Dino's Restaurant owners debut new Mediterranean restaurant in University CityPhoto: Mary F./Yelp

A new Mediterranean and Italian spot, offering pizza and more, has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Alpha Omega Grill & Pizzeria, the fresh addition is located at 11524 N. Tryon St. in University City.

Alpha Omega comes from the family behind the local Dino's Restaurant chain, and specializes in pizzas, sandwiches and salads.

On the extensive menu, look for offerings like the chicken or pork souvlaki, the jalapeño ranch burger with cheddar cheese and the Florentine pizza with chicken and fresh spinach. (Take a look at the menu here.)

The new addition has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 22 reviews on Yelp.

Ben P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on February 19th, said: "I wanted to be the first to welcome back such a wonderful family with amazing food that is only topped by their hospitality. It was like being back at Dino's in Harrisburg."

And Christina P. said: "This place was awesome! Tons of seating and great atmosphere. The restaurant was decorated nice and service was great! Missed these guys when they were Dino's and I am happy to see their success."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Alpha Omega Grill & Pizzeria is open Monday–Thursday from 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.–10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
