
The Holy Family varsity softball team lost Tuesday's home conference game against Bishop Conaty-Loretto by a score of 19-10.
The Holy Family Gaels led 7-0 after the first two innings, and by the end of the third, they had a 10-4 lead over the visiting Wildcats. The Bishop Conaty-Loretto players, however, elevated their level of play, scoring 15 runs, unanswered, in the game’s final four innings.
With the loss, the Gaels slipped to 1-12 on the season, with both a winless record at home and in league play. The Wildcats improved to 3-8-1 on the season, with all three of the team’s victories coming against league rivals.
Holy Family’s next varsity softball game — the team’s final game of the season — is at Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, May 3 at 3 p.m. The last time the Gaels met the Cometson April 17, Holy Family lost 30-9.
