A new restaurant serving made-from-scratch comfort food in a modern setting has opened its doors near the Cleveland-Lakewood border. Landmark, located at 11637 Clifton Blvd. in the Edgewater neighborhood, has taken over the space that formerly housed the Diner on Clifton.

Craving mac and cheese? Landmark's version features shell pasta with smoked Gouda, cheddar and fresh chives topped with panko breadcrumbs. On the menu, you'll also find smoked beef shank osso bucco and pan-seared Norwegian Aukra salmon atop black beans, corn and potato hash. (See the full menu here.)

The restaurant has been completely renovated, Cleveland Scene reports, with custom-built tables, banquette and counter seating and more square footage.

Landmark has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Jim D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 22, said, "Their brisket will make you wanna slap the sandwich out your mamma's mouth. If you're wondering what that means, it's amazing! Slaw [is] slightly oniony but I couldn't stop eating it. Lastly, that house-made hot sauce — what wasn't used to dip, slather and smoosh was slurped down at the end. It isn't too hot and has a sweet note that was unexpected and addicting."

Yelper Sara B. added, “The food is fresh and pretty and it's a great place to pop in for a quick meal. Everyone was happy with their meals. I definitely recommend the burger, the fried chicken and the bowls. And the goat cheese ball salad. OK, I recommend everything.”

Head on over to check it out: Landmark is open from 5–10 p.m. daily. Breakfast and lunch hours are coming soon. Check Landmark's website for more details.
