There's a brand-new cafe in town. Called Daybreak, the new arrival is located at 6212 Memphis Ave. in Old Brooklyn.
The newcomer serves a variety of hearty breakfast and brunch fare, from corned beef hash and omelets to sweet French toast and Bananutter crepes — made with peanut butter, sliced bananas, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
Lunch offerings include a selection of paninis, burgers, appetizers, tartines and salads. Try the chipotle-marinated chicken panini with pepper jack cheese or the Alaska tartine with tuna salad, onion, tomato and Swiss on an artisan baguette.
With a four-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition has made a promising start.
Julianna C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 12, wrote, "Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The dining room was very clean and picked up well. ... The food was delicious! Love the friendly vibe and feel of this place. Looking forward to coming back to try other items on the menu!"
