Looking to indulge in Italian fare in the heart of Seattle? A fresh addition to the downtown culinary scene, called Cortina, is located at 621 Union St.

Taking the place of Sullivan's Steakhouse — at the base of Seattle's third tallest skyscraper, Two Union Square — this is the latest venture by Ethan Stowell Restaurants (Ballard Pizza Co.Goldfinch TavernBar Cotto).

The restaurant's contemporary, minimalist interior features more than 100 seats for walk-in guests across the dining room, 60-foot bar and lounge. There's also a private dining room for up to 40 guests, Eater reports.

Cortina's Italian-dominated menu is available for lunch, happy hour and dinner during the week, plus happy hour and dinner on weekends.

At lunch, try one of the eight pizzas on the menu, like the Wise Guy, complete with salami, pepper, onion, tomato and mozzarella. Dinner options include soups, salads, pasta, fish and meat. There's also a wide range of small plates, salads, sandwiches, pastas and seafood. Dinner adds a wider array of steak and seafood options, like a tenderloin steak stuffed with oysters and wrapped in applewood bacon with celery root puree, maitake mushrooms and red wine sauce.

Cortina is stocked with more than 100 wine varietals from around the world. And at happy hour — 3-6 p.m. on weekdays and 4-6 pm. on weekends — a selection of apéritifs and specialty cocktails range from $8-$10.

With just two reviews on Yelp thus far, Cortina currently has a four-star rating.

Kimberly P., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on May 18, said, "Great atmosphere with big windows for lots of natural light. The bar seating area is massive (longest bar in Seattle). Try the Behind the Green Door cocktail: cucumbers and crushed ice; refreshing!"

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Cortina is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday, 4-11 p.m. on Saturday, and 4-10 p.m. on Sunday.
