The Buckley varsity baseball team won its home conference game against Providence by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday, May 1.

An explosive third inning saw the Griffins take a 5-1 lead, and the Buckley boys never looked back.

Providence has struggled on the road this season, going 0-8 in away games. After yesterday’s loss, the Pioneers have a 2-15 record, with four regular season games remaining on their schedule.

The two teams will clash again today at 6 p.m. at Providence High School.

Providence will be looking for both revenge and its first league win during today’s rematch with the 17-11 Griffins, who are 8-2 in league play. To add to the Pioneers uphill battle, Buckley is on a six-game winning streak.
