On Wednesday, May 3, the Providence varsity baseball team lost its home conference game against Buckley by a score of 13-1. The Pioneers also lost to the 18-10 Griffins on Tuesday, May 1 at Buckley by a score of 7-2.
The score was 1-1 going into the game’s second inning; however, whereas the Griffins kept bringing in runs, the Pioneers’ bats seemingly stopped working.
With the loss, Providence slipped to 2-16 on the season, with a 0-6 league record. The Pioneers’ next game is against the 5-12 Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica Seawolves. Providence is 0-8 in away games this season.
With three games left to play, the Pioneers will be looking to end their 12-game losing streak before the season ends on May 10.
