The St. Monica varsity baseball team lost Tuesday’s away conference game against Mary Star of the Sea by a score of 9-0.

The Stars overwhelmed the Mariners in the game’s first inning, batting in eight runs. Even though St. Monica ended the game with four hits, the team wasn’t able to convert any of that offensive output into runs.

With the loss, St. Monica slumped to 5-16-1 on the season, with a 1-8 league record. The team has now lost nine straight games. The Stars, on the other hand, are now 16-7 and have won seven of their nine league games. The team is on a roll, going 4-1 in its last five games.

St. Monica will get a shot of revenge against Mary Star of the Sea tomorrow, May 4 at home. The game is scheduled for 3:30pm.
