Em's Ice Cream — known for its popular food truck and mobile cart — has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The ice cream maker's first brick-and-mortar location is at 2829 Fairfax St. in Park Hill.
The shop is dishing out organic, made-from-scratch ice cream that is gluten free and batch churned "to ensure consistent and superior quality," the business says on its website. The storefront offers 20 different flavors of its handcrafted treats, from the classic mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream and vanilla to specialty options like strawberry basil, honey lavender and Meyer lemon.
Besides the new shop, Em's Ice Cream has a kiosk at the 16th Street Mall. Keep up with the ice cream truck and cart by visiting the business' Facebook page.
With a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, Em's Ice Cream has been warmly received by patrons.
Abigail B H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 18, said, "My family loves the new neighborhood ice cream shop! There's a great selection of flavors, and the waffle cones are fantastic. The cookies and cream and the honey lavender flavors are outstanding."
Yelper Michaela B. added, “This brick-and-mortar location is brand new! It's well lit and feels very established despite its recent opening. We stopped by on a rainy afternoon, but the girls working the counter were super friendly and eager to help us find the perfect flavor.”
