If you're downtown and searching for a quick bite on the go, look no further than this new fast-food toast restaurant. Located at 1424 14th St., the new arrival is called Toasted.
Diners can customize their own toasts from an extensive menu of spreads and toppings, or choose from pre-selected options like the Pear-fect Date toast (almond butter, sliced pear, chopped dates, gorgonzola cheese and honey on whole grain bread).
The only beverage Toasted serves is coffee, and it has no seating. But if you're looking for a more extensive drink menu or a place to perch, you can head next door to its sister juice bar Cap City Squeeze for a juice or smoothie and some outdoor seating.
With a four-star rating out of 15 reviews on Yelp so far, Toasted has made a promising start.
Karessa B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 17, said, "We picked up lunch for some of our office, and everyone was impressed. Poached eggs, salmon, delicious fresh veggies and ripe avocado. The toast comes on a bed of salad topped with a fantastic sesame-ginger dressing."
Yelper Vintage S. noted the lack of seating and beverages, and added, "The food was tasty, but really difficult to eat with the tiny plastic picnic fork they give you. I think as they grow and make a couple changes, they could be really good."
Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Toasted is open from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
