Astronomy night at Baltimore Under Ground Science Space

Head down to BUGSS for some out-of-this-world family-friendly fun this Friday evening. Amateur astronomists from Popscope will be on hand at the underground science lab to help urban dwellers of all ages reconnect with the night sky.

Campus beautification at Frederick Douglass High School

Roll your sleeves up and join Volunteering Untapped, Teach for America and Thread to make Frederick Douglass High School shine. The crew will paint the school's walls, murals and the logo, and support other beautification efforts to improve the facilities. Once the work is done, volunteers can enjoy free beer and wine at the neighborhood collaboration center TouchPoint Baltimore.

Community art projects with Art With a Heart

Get your hands dirty with coloring, painting, mosaics and other crafty activities all in the name of community art. 

During this art-filled community service event, you and your host — Art With a Heart, a visual arts organization that offers classes to enhance the lives of communities in need — will help the social enterprise retail store HeARTwares prepare materials for future community art classes and complete public art projects, among other behind-the-scenes tasks.
