Soul Junction Bars & Beats Jam Session at Arts Factory

Jazz up your Thursday night at the fourth edition of Johnson C. Smith University's Soul Junction Bars & Beats Jam Session in the campus' intimate black box theater.

At this warm-up session for the university's Soul Junction Music Festival — which runs Friday through Saturday — attendees will enjoy performances by professional Charlotte jazz, funk and soul musicians as well as brave local artists in the crowd.

Reggae paint-and-sip

Paint, sip and dance this Friday night at Crystal On the Plaza.

Taking place on the club's outdoor patio, the reggae-infused paint-and-sip party will offer the opportunity to paint an image with instruction from a skilled professional, dance to music spun live by some of the city's best DJs, shop for local handmade goods and bites, and more.

Old-school jazz and soul day party at Morehead Tavern

Slip on your dancing shoes and head down to Morehead Tavern for an old-school jazz and soul day party. The outdoor party will featuredrink specials all afternoon, live music by DJ Stacey Blackman and a special performance by the variety band Soundbridge.

Kill The Noise at World

Catch rising DJ Kill The Noise at World Night Club this Saturday night. 

The dubstep and electro house DJ has performed at major music festivals, including CoachellaEDC and Lollapalooza. He's also well known for his work with Skrillex, Fatman Scoop and Michael Angelakos on "Recess," the title track on Skrillex's debut studio album.
