A new fast-casual Chicago chain serving fresh poke has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Aloha Poke Co., the newcomer is located at 4020 Lincoln Blvd. in Marina del Rey.
This is the third California location for Aloha Poke — with sister locations in Costa Mesa and Century City. The eatery specializes in build-your-own poke bowls with fresh marinated fish and a variety of toppings.
Customers start with a base of white rice, brown rice or mixed greens; then select a protein from offerings that include salmon, tuna and tofu; add toppings like ginger, scallion or tobiko (flying fish roe); and finally finish it off with a sauce (wasabi, sesame oil and yuzu ranch, to name a few).
A variety of signature bowls are also available like the Volcano — a combination of seaweed, edamame, jalapeño, ginger, tobiko and volcano sauce. (You can view the full menu here.)
With a 4.5-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, Aloha Poke Co. seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Antoinette B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 31, said, "Wonderful! Cool LA vibes mixed with fresh poke bowls — love it. The inside is very beautiful and clean. Ordered the Crunch House Bowl — perfection!"
"Quality poke, fun atmosphere," added Yelper Arash D. "Loved the quality of the disposable chopsticks and clean layout."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Aloha Poke Co is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday–Saturday and 11 a.m.–7 p.m. on Sunday.
