There's a new spot in town to get bubble tea, shaved ice and light bites. The newcomer to the International District, called Bao House, is located at 514 S. King St. in the former space of Piece of Cake bakery.
Bao House offers oolong, black, red and green teas along with milk tea, juice and smoothies. Choose the signature black tea or opt for a fruity caffeinated beverage like pineapple green tea. Smoothies and shaved ice come in a variety of flavors, including mango, kiwi, lychee and passion fruit.
Hungry? Bao House has pork, barbecue pork and roast duck bao (steamed rolls stuffed with fillings), fried fish balls, onion rings and crispy popcorn chicken.
Bao House has earned a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, based on two reviews.
Vicky P., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on May 28, said, "The signature milk tea and popcorn chicken are tasty. I like the texture of this chicken compared to Oasis, it's not too fried."
And Anna A. wrote, "It's really nice to be able to go out to lunch and get a lean piece of fried pork on a soft and pillowy bao. ... The staff is friendly and it has the luxury of not needing to worry about lines yet."
Bao House's hours were not yet available at the time of publication.
