Basic Burger has made the move to 1101 S. Joyce St. on Pentagon Row. This space replaces the earlier, much smaller one in Courthouse. The locally owned business has ambitions to further expand in the D.C. metropolitan area, with new branches slated for North Arlington and D.C. proper, according to DC Eater.
Basic Burger takes a back-to-basics approach by offering burgers with minimal embellishments — bacon is about the most exotic extra on offer. The business touts its grass-fed and locally sourced beef and cage- and antibiotic-free chicken. Sides are fries, onion rings or fried pickles. There are milkshakes and beer on tap.
The burger joint has a four-star rating out of 237 reviews on Yelp.
Jd H., who reviewed the eatery at its new location on June 18, said, "They have a special sauce on the counter and it makes everything better so make sure you get some with your food. The food is however, a bit on the pricier side but I think it's worth it every now and then. They also have a bar area."
And Haleigh V. added, "Great service. Delicious food. Basic cheeseburger was perfect. I saw their soda selection after I ordered and was sad I didn't get one! So unique and fun looking — I'll get one next time."
