If you're looking for a new place to get a good workout, you're in luck: we've rounded up the newest gyms, personal trainers and fitness programs to hit Denver.

Planet Fitness

815 16th St., Downtown

National chain Planet Fitness touts its friendly staff, small group fitness classes and judgment-free environment, per its website.

The gym, which has several other Denver-area locations, offers a number of membership options. Among membership benefits, you can expect massage chairs, tanning and the ability to go to other Planet Fitness locations across the country.

Planet Fitness has one five-star review on Yelp so far.

Yelper Dave C., who reviewed the gym on June 3, wrote, "The staff is very friendly and accommodating. ... It's nice to be in the middle of downtown so you can people watch in between sets, and the floor to ceiling windows really make for a nice view of all the buildings."

Planet Fitness is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Lions Den

Lions Den offers movement-based fitness classes for all ages and fitness levels as well as personal training services.

Workouts emphasize strength, mobility and performance. It has multiple membership and training options, including monthly memberships for both group training and personal training, class packages that allow you to drop in on the classes you choose and specialty programs that can train you for marathons or triathlons.

Lions Den has received a five-star review from Yelper Jem C.

She wrote, "I've been coming here since they opened in March 2018 and I've noticed a change in my flexibility, my endurance, my strength, my mood and overall vitality."

Lions Den is open from 6 a.m.–7:30 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m.–4 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)

iLoveKickboxing

iLoveKickboxing is a new exercise studio that focuses on kickboxing training regimens. This is the international fitness chain's second Denver outpost, with another location on Quebec Street.

The studio focuses on helping its members lose weight and gain muscle tone by participating in workout routines similar to those of professional kickboxers, according to the gym's website.

iLoveKickboxing currently has just one review on Yelp so far, so it's still early days for the new gym.

Yelper Boni M., who reviewed it on June 6, wrote, "The staff is energetic, motivating and extremely friendly. They do a good job of leading a large class and simultaneously paying attention to individual needs. ... I find the variety of workouts provided by ILKB are better than spin class options and treadmill workouts."

iLoveKickboxing is open from 3:30–9 p.m. on Monday, 4:45 a.m.–9 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30–9 p.m. on Wednesday, 2:30–8 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)

Transformation Personal Training

Transformation Personal Training is the personal training venture of Mary Theis, who offers both 50-minute one-on-one sessions and 50-minute small group sessions (two to five people). Sessions included dynamic warm-ups, a tailored workout and a cool down period. 

Transformation Personal Training currently holds five stars out of four reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper David U. wrote, "I worked out with Mary to get in shape for ski season and the experience was amazing! She tailored all my workouts to focus on the key muscle groups used in skiing (particularly my core and legs). The workouts were fun, but I also saw significant results in just a few months."

Yelper Cynthia S. wrote, "I have worked with Mary on numerous occasions and each time she pushes me to be the best at all the exercises she recommends. Her knowledge with Trex Training has been very beneficial in helping me with my core."

Transformation Personal Training is open from 9 a.m.–8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. (It's closed on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.)

Next Level Krav Maga

Next Level Krav Maga is a martial arts studio that focuses on Krav Maga, which is the technique taught to Israeli military personnel. Krav Maga is a highly practical form of self defense that also offers a good workout.

Also available at Next Level are Brazilian jiujitsu, kickboxing, Kali and mixed martial arts.

Next Level Krav Maga is off to a strong start with 4.5 stars out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Tom G., who reviewed the fitness studio on May 5, wrote, "The curriculum always seems on point, and I feel that after only three months I am better capable of defending myself if the need ever arises."

Yelper Ryan B. wrote, "Beginners or experienced martial arts practitioners, you would be remiss if you did not check out Next Level. I have experience in Kali, Kenpo and Krav Maga and I can tell you that this is the best place in Denver!"

Next Level Krav Maga is open from 5–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.–noon on Saturday. (It's closed on Friday and Sunday.)
