If you've got Southern fare on the mind, a recent opening in Upper Greenville is need-to-know. Located at 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, #110, in Mockingbird Station, the newcomer is called Brined Southern Kitchen.

The new spot offers Southern-inspired dishes for lunch and dinner, including Mondie's Brisket served with house pickles, coleslaw and bourbon barbecue sauce on a split-top bun; Honey Fried Chicken with warmed potato salad, a biscuit and coleslaw; Cowboy Flank Steak; and the Mighty Hog Burger (half a pound of Akaushi beef, pork belly, smoked Gouda, pickles and grilled onions on challah). The new arrival has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Max C., who was among the first to review the new spot on June 21, said, "Great space, great drinks, awesome food! ... It felt like a family gathering at the bar. I tried a few things on the menu and everything was really good. This is going to be my new stop on my way home."

Diego R. added, "First time here and I gotta say Emily, our bartender who took care of us, was phenomenal; such a humble and amazing human being! I ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich and it was so good! I'll definitely recommend this place to everyone!"
