If you've got Mediterranean on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Located at 16845 Birkdale Commons Parkway, Suite D, the fresh addition is called Cava. The chain has dozens of locations across the country.
Cava was created by childhood friends chef Dimitri Moshovitis, Ike Grigoropoulos and Ted Xenohristos. The restaurant "celebrates the flavors of their families’ traditional Greek and Mediterranean cooking in a casual, modern setting," per its website.
The eatery is known for its customizable Greek meals. Start with a base of grains, greens or soup. Then choose up to three dips like hummus, tzatziki or eggplant with red pepper, and top it off with a protein like falafel, spicy lamb meatballs or braised beef. (See the full menu here.)
With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival has already made a good impression.
Mary E., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 19, said, "So flavorful and so many combinations. Cava does not disappoint and is a welcome fast-casual addition to the dining options at Birkdale."
