Acova
A Highland newcomer, Acova is a New American eatery serving up lunch, brunch, dinner and specialty cocktails at 3651 Navajo St.
Featuring indoor and outdoor seating, this Northside eatery is owned by the same people behind The Hornet. Expect to find dishes such as pork posole green chili, the Havana panini with braised pork, smoked turkey, pepperjack, pickled red onions and pineapple-jalapeño jam and stew with mussels, calamari, crab, cod, onions, white beans in saffron tomato broth.
Daikon
Daikon, a Vietnamese spot with a focus on fresh ingredients, recently opened its doors at 211 E. 7th Ave. in Capitol Hill.
You can customize your own sandwich, rice, or salad box with pork, beef, roasted chicken or jackfruit. Daikon's meats are locally sourced and braised for 18 hours, according to its website.
Super Mega Bien
Super Mega Bien is a fusion restaurant in The Ramble Hotel, located at 1260 25th St. in Five Points.
This new spot draws from a variety of Latin American and Asian cuisines to create a unique menu. Expect to find dim sum, chipotle honey-glazed duck and lamb mixiote wrapped in a banana leaf with onions, garlic and peppers.
Em's Ice Cream
Em's Ice Cream serves ice cream and frozen yogurt and more at its new brick and mortar shop, located at 2829 Fairfax St. in North Park Hill.
Using organic ingredients, each sweet treat is gluten-free and made from scratch, per Em's website. Roasted banana, honey lavender, strawberry basil and burnt brown sugar are on the menu, all crafted without artificial ingredients.
