Brightmarten
730 S. University Blvd., Bonnie Brae

Brightmarten is a bar and New American spot that prides itself on serving elevated comfort food and drinks, including an "imaginative take on New American fare," per its website.
Featuring locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, look for shareables like mussels and nachos; a crispy chicken sandwich; the Juicy Lucy burger stuffed with cheddar and topped with bacon and jalapeño-onion relish; and entrees like seared salmon and steak and potatoes.
Thirsty? Beer, wine and signature cocktails, like the tequila-based Strawberry Blonde with Fresno chili and lime, are available on the libations menu. Check out the full menu here.

Shake Shack

Shake Shack is a spot to score burgers, hot dogs, fries and more. The fast-food chain also serves up chicken sandwiches, breakfast fare and frozen custard.
Try the flat-top Shack-cago dog with relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, celery salt and mustard, as well as the signature SmokeShack burger topped with applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper and ShackSauce. The full menu can be seen here.
Shake Shack's current Yelp rating of four stars out of 108 reviews indicates the newcomer is off to a strong start.
Yelper Alana Z., who reviewed the eatery on June 11, wrote, "I have loved Shake Shack from the first time I tasted that sweet, sweet cheese sauce. The cheese is not sweet, it is just so satisfyingly cheesy. This location does not disappoint compared to any other location I've been."

Tony Roma's is a steakhouse and traditional American spot, offering barbecue and more. This chain has over 150 locations worldwide, including this new spot in the Central Business District.
Expect ribs, seafood, steaks, chicken, burgers and sandwiches. On the menu, options include shrimp scampi pasta, New York strip steak and a turkey cheddar melt.
Tony Roma's's current rating of four stars out of 15 reviews on Yelp indicates positive feedback from diners.
Yelper Jason M. wrote, "Got the $12 lunch special. The mac and cheese was so good. I also got the potato soup and cheeseburger sliders. Amazing."
