If you've got Chinese cuisine on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Called China Gourmet, the fresh arrival is located at 2842 St. Vincent St. in Mayfair.
The new spot features fresh live seafood at market price, as well as a dim sum cart filled with steamed or fried dumplings with various fillings.
Private function rooms featuring live karaoke are also available for those seeking a more intimate dining experience.
With a 3.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, China Gourmet is getting solid feedback from clientele.
Camilia W., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 14, said, "Probably the largest Chinese restaurant in Northeast Philadelphia. We had dim sum twice already. The restaurant is huge, full of tables and high ceilings. ... Tasty food!"
"Moved from Bustelton into new and expanded space with parking lot!" added Yelper T Y. "Food is good, if not better than before. Had their lunch platter and a couple of dim sums."
