Laurel Tavern
1920 Greenville Ave., M Street

Laurel Tavern is a gastropub that recently debuted in Lower Greenville. The California-based eatery — with additional locations in Hermosa Beach and Studio City — has taken over the space formerly occupied by Clark Food & Wine, Eater Dallas reports, boasting an L-shaped walnut bar, high-top tables and more.
On the menu, look for gastropub fare like garlic Parmesan fries, chicken tenders (with a sweet and spicy twist) and sandwiches. A selection of burgers are available, as well as specialty cocktails like the Lost in Translation — a combination of whiskey, Combier rose, lemon and rosemary. (Check out the full menu here.)
Laurel Tavern is off to a strong start, with a five-star Yelp rating based on two reviews.
Jenna B., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on May 24, said, "Greenville has needed a casual gastropub like this. Music selection is great. The bar staff are all friendly and really know what they're doing. Food is incredible."
And Clara T. added: "Small, nice decor and helpful (but not pretentious) bar tenders. Great potential date spot!"
Laurel Tavern is open from 5 p.m.–midnight on Monday-Thursday and 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday-Sunday.
Pints & Quarts
3111 Welborn St., Oak Lawn

Score burgers, smoothies, craft beers and more at Pints & Quarts in Oak Lawn. The expanding local chain — run by restaurateur and bar owner Brooke Humphries (Barcadia, Beauty Bar, Mudsmith) — originally debuted in 2015 as a burger and beer stand at Ross and Greenville avenues.
On the menu, expect to find a selection of loaded burgers — like the Chili Willie with house cheese sauce, Texas-style chili, white onions and Fritos — plus the option to choose your own toppings. (Check out the menu here.)
Yelp users are generally positive about Pints & Quarts, which currently holds four stars out of 11 reviews on the site.
Yelper Kate P. wrote: "This is my new favorite burger spot in Dallas. I love the old-fashioned style of the burgers and can't get enough of their secret sauce."
And James P. said: "Certainly one of the best burgers that I've had. ... The meat was seasoned well, was the perfect amount of greasy and tasted delicious. They use a butter toasted bun, which is always a bonus for me. "
Pints & Quarts is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
The Mockingbird Diner
3130 W. Mockingbird Lane, Northwest Dallas

Over in Northwest Dallas, the Mockingbird Diner is serving up classic American staples.
Jack Perkins, the chef behind Maple & Motor, is at the helm of this new endeavor with fellow chef Jeana Johnson at his side, D Magazine reports.
Menu offerings include comfort food like fried catfish with hush puppies, candied yams, chicken fried steak with country gravy and hot Texas chili with onions, cheddar and sour cream. (Check out the lunch/dinner menu here.)
The Mockingbird Diner's current rating of four stars out of 119 reviews on Yelp indicates the newcomer is off to a positive start with locals.
Yelper CR J., who was one of the first users to visit The Mockingbird Diner on May 24, wrote: "Love the location and setting. Owners have done a great job transporting you to a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city ... The high vaulted ceilings really take your breath away and the food was delicious."
"Really good brunch," noted Katie C. "No wait, great food and casual vibe. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the seating is comfortable and spacey."
The Mockingbird Diner is open from 7 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
