Shouk

Shouk is a vegetarian Middle Eastern spot that serves modern Israeli street food. This is the second location for the eatery — its twin can be found over in Mount Vernon Square.
Its menu options include pita sandwiches, such as the Shouk Burger (roasted tomato, pickled turnip, arugula, charred onion and tahina) and the Breakfast Pita (veggie omelet, chopped salad and crushed avocado), as well as daily soups, hummus with pita bread, cashew labneh and fresh salads. Yelper Jessica B., who reviewed the eatery on June 6, wrote, "Gorgeous space, delicious food and friendly people, oh, and it's plant-based! Loved their first location and this one might be even better. More seating and in such an up-and-coming neighborhood."
Yelper Jaq D. wrote, "We split the burger (all plant-based!) on pita and the eggplant bowl, plus a side of pita and hummus with harissa on the side. This is the best hummus I have ever had and the burger and the eggplant were both phenomenal. There is so much flavor packed in."

Texas Chicken & Burgers

Texas Chicken & Burgers is a fast-food spot where you can score chicken sandwiches, burgers, salads and more. With locations across New York and Philadelphia, this is the first location in D.C.
The restaurant chain says its halal meat arrives fresh every morning and comes from farms where the animals are ethically housed and fed a grain-based diet.
Menu offerings include two-, three- or four-piece chicken biscuit meals; the Texas Cheeseburger seasoned with pepper and salt plus all the fixings; and a selection of sides like mozzarella sticks and mac and cheese. (You can check out the menu here.)
Yelpers are generally positive about Texas Chicken & Burgers, which currently holds four stars out of seven reviews on the site.
Blake N., who reviewed it on June 6, wrote, "I am really impressed. Awesome food and great customer service. The burgers were the best I've had in a long time, very juicy. The spicy chicken — oh, man! My mouth is already watering!"

City Winery

City Winery is a restaurant, winery and music venue chain with locations in New York, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Boston and now Washington.
Its restaurant menu includes grilled hanger steak with fondant potatoes, glazed shallots, roasted tomatoes and romesco sauce; wild king salmon with roasted salsify, mussels and saffron-verjus sauce; and the crispy hodo soy tofu with sweet chili sauce, forbidden rice, grilled bok choy and sesame seeds.

Yelper Nicole P., who reviewed the new arrival on June 6, wrote, "From the minute we walked through the doors, to the minute we sat down and were greeted by our lovely server, we were well taken care of. A nice, rustic venue with some great wine and service, my husband and I both highly recommend it."
Gail B. added, "The rooftop looks like it will be a popular place to hang. The concert series is already booked for several months. There are also multiple tastings and classes scheduled."

Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's is a chain of grocery stores known for its vast array of high-quality frozen products.
Established in the 1950s under the name Pronto Markets, the grocery store chain has only become bigger and more popular throughout the years, placing a significant emphasis on value and touting the quality of its food and affordable prices.
With a five-star rating out of 20 reviews on Yelp, Trader Joe's has been getting positive attention.
Yelper Austin G., who reviewed the store on June 6, wrote, "This Trader Joe's may be the best in the city. If it's not, it's certainly the biggest. It's in a new condo building in NoMa close to Union Market and is huge. ... Once you enter the grocery store, you'll find the aisles wide and more aisles than other Trader Joe's in the city."
Yelper Vy L. wrote, "I am absolutely in love with it. It is clean, fully stocked with all of my favorite Trader Joe goodies/snacks and fresh produce! It even has fresh salmon! The staff is super friendly and this place is spanking clean."

Paisano's Pizza

Score New York-style pizzas, salads, calzones, wings and more at Paisano's Pizza, which now has over 35 locations.
Pizza options include the Bacon Cheeseburger (ground beef, bacon, onion, mozzarella and cheddar), the Greek (gyro meat, feta, black olives, tomatoes and onions) and the Hawaiian. You can also find spaghetti, fettuccini Alfredo, chicken parmigiana and ravioli. (See the full menu here.)
Yelpers are still warming up to Paisano's Pizza, which currently holds 3.5 stars out of six reviews on the site.
Jenifer S., who reviewed the pizzeria on May 5, wrote, "Got a turkey and Swiss cheese sub here, which was pretty good. It is newly opened, so very clean and tidy. They have tables and chairs so you can eat in there and they bring your order to the table."
Jennifer V. noted, "When I picked up my slice, my crust was a bit soft and soggy. Now I know it's thin crust, so there's no real excuse [as] to why my crust seemed so gummy. ... Crust aside, the pizza tasted good and I enjoyed the flavor."
