Topping the list is dance club and event space Mobtown Ballroom.
Located at 861 Washington Blvd., the venue is the highest rated business in the neighborhood, boasting five stars out of 35 reviews on Yelp. Formerly a church built in the 1870s, the space, which has its own bar, offers a 2,500-square foot dance floor and a performance stage with 1,200 square feet.
2. Breaking Bread
Next up is Breaking Bread, a wing spot situated at 771 Washington Blvd. With 4.5 stars out of 77 reviews on Yelp, it's proven to be a local favorite.
Best known for its sticky wings, the eatery also serves burgers, fries, soups, and has an extensive kids' menu. On Yelp, co-owner Edward Ellis wrote, "We have a sign in our window that says, 'Caution: great food, not fast food.' All our food is made fresh."
3. Cafe Jovial
Locally-owned Cafe Jovial is another top choice. Yelpers give the business, located at 784 Washington Blvd., 4.5 stars out of 50 reviews.
Cafe Jovial serves a full spread of coffee drinks and offers hot and cold breakfast and lunch options seven days a week, in addition to catering services for individuals and companies.
4. Culinary Architecture

Nick's Rotisserie, a soul food restaurant at 813 Washington Blvd., has earned four stars out of 70 Yelp reviews.
Cash-only, Nick's specializes in carry-out roasted chicken, along with subs, fried chicken, burgers and sides like fries, macaroni salad and coleslaw.
"This place is perfect for those who want to go somewhere that feels like you're visiting family," wrote Yelper Terry J. "It looks like your aunt's kitchen or something (think of a place where someone is throwin' down for real)."

Finally, there's Sunny Carry Out, a local favorite with four stars out of 49 reviews at 758 Washington Blvd.
Although the restaurant doesn't deliver, it's a popular option with locals seeking traditional favorites like shrimp egg rolls, fried rice and mei fun (rice noodles), but customers are advised to call ahead when placing orders.
