A new spot for cryotherapy treatments has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Celsius Cryotherapy, the new addition is located at 229 Queen Anne Ave. North, Suite 101 in Queen Anne.
As its name suggests, Celsius (which also has an outpost in St. Louis) specializes in cryotherapy, which safely exposes the body to nitrogen vapor at temperatures up to -250°F, lowering users' skin surface temperature by 30-50 degrees.
The science behind the technology is still emerging, but proponents believe it can speed up muscle and tissue healing after injuries or tough workouts.
Celsius, which is attached to the Studio 3 gym, also offers an infrared sauna, which is believed to improve circulation and promote wound healing, and a NormaTec system, which uses compressed air to massage the limbs, increasing blood flow to heal injuries or accelerate recovery.
The newcomer has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Seanye W., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 13, said, "This place is awesome! It's connected to my fave gym, Studio 3, and the staff at Celsius Cryotherapy is amazing. Very friendly, very helpful, very conscious of what's going on."
Yelper Natassia S. added, “Celsius is an amazing little health oasis connected to Studio 3! Celsius features cryotherapy, NormaTec, and infrared sauna. [Staff member] Brittany was so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable."
And Katie C. said, "I love this place! All the staff are great and easy to talk to. It is such a great way to recharge and restore your body."
