Screening of 'Dirtbag: The Legend of Fred Beckey'

Delve into the life of Fred Beckey, North America's most prolific mountaineer, at Wednesday night's screening of "Dirtbag: The Legend of Fred Beckey." The biographical documentary, produced throughout the last 10 years of his life, explores what made the stubborn, rebellious Pacific Northwest climber tick.
Two artists behind the film's original scores, Cliffhammer and Brad Anthony & The Expedition, will perform after the screening. An outdoor gear raffle will also benefit the Washington Climber's Coalition.

Adventure writing class with Charlotte Austin

Considering a career in travel writing? Award-winning travel writer and international mountain guide Charlotte Austin is offering an intermediate adventure writing workshop at The Mountaineers this Thursday evening. Writers of all levels will participate in writing exercises, learn fresh editing techniques, how to pitch their story ideas to publications and more.

Live performance by reggae musician Clinton Fearon

Head back to Nectar Lounge this Saturday night for a performance by soulful reggae musician and composer Clinton Fearon. The Jamaican artist has been writing, producing and performing professionally since the age of 19. He's best known for serving as the bassist, vocalist and lyricist for the Gladiators, and founding Seattle-based bands The Defenders and Boogie Brown Band.
"My music is good for the soul — always with a message of hope and betterment for tomorrow," Fearon says. "It's good for dancing, good for listening and I think it's good for all.”
