If you've got Hawaiian and Japanese fusion fare on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The fresh arrival to Southwest Dallas, called Waikiki Teriyaki, is located at 4344 S. Hampton Road, Suite 150.
Its menu is a blend of Hawaiian and Japanese fare, including egg rolls, fried dumplings, edamame, shrimp tempura, Lava chicken, chicken katsu, North Shore garlic shrimp, fried rice, noodles and, of course, teriyaki (your choice of chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu).
Waikiki Teriyaki has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Steve K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 16, said, "I tried the shrimp tempura (it was really good) and ordered chicken katsu for my entree, which was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside."
Yelper Mandeep K. added, “We ordered shrimp tempura, egg rolls, fried rice, Lava chicken and North Shore garlic shrimp. All dishes came out great. I especially liked the spicy lava chicken here. A must-try if you like Hawaiian food.”
