Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top shops for ice cream and other frozen confections in Houston, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to fulfill your urges.
1. Gelazzi
Topping the list is Gelazzi, which is dishing out handcrafted gelato, ice cream and fruity sorbetto. Located at 3601 White Oak Dr. in the Heights, the Italian shop is the highest rated spot for frozen treats in Houston, boasting 4.5 stars out of 352 reviews on Yelp.
Gelazzi makes its desserts in-house daily and features 40 flavors, including boubon butterscotch gelato, blackberry sorbetto and chocolate ice cream. Custom cakes are also available and made with gelato or sorbetto, mix-ins, a layer of sponge cake and your choice of crust.
2. Cacao and Cardamom
Cacao and Cardamom, a chocolatier that offers gelato in the Galleria area, is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 148 Yelp reviews. Flavors include chocolate, cookies and cream, Nutella and more.

3. Frozen Cafe
Over in Chinatown, check out Frozen Cafe, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 106 reviews on Yelp for its frozen yogurt, gelato and milk tea.
On the menu, look for frozen desserts in flavors like Thai tea, green tea, avocado, tiramisu and alcohol-infused options like the Baileys cheesecake. You can find the spot in Dun Huang Plaza at 9889 Bellaire Blvd., Suite 317.
4. Dolce Neve
Last but not least, there's the family-owned Dolce Neve, a Heights favorite with 4.5 stars out of 102 reviews. Stop by 4721 N. Main St., Suite H, to check out the new arrival or visit the original location in Austin.
The shop features 12 to 18 flavors each day, with staples like salted caramel and organic pistachio, rotating options such as cassata and almond custard as well as seasonal selections.
