A new Asian fusion spot, offering poke, seafood and more, has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 2449 Larimer St. in Five Points, the new arrival is called Hi Tide.
The main concept at the restaurant is to build your own poke bowl. You choose your size, base, protein, sauce, mix-ins and toppings in order to customize your poke bowl to your taste. There are also signature bowls available if you don't feel like getting creative.
Other menu items include the Hawaiian Kalua pork sliders (smoked pork shoulder, grilled pineapple salsa and pickled fresno chiles on a King's Hawaiian roll) or the shrimp toast (pork and shrimp filling and gomashio on white bread with creamy Sriracha dipping sauce). (See the full menu here.)
The new place also serves up alcohol, including canned Hawaiian beers, wines, cocktails and frozen sake.
The fresh arrival has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.
Mike T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 7, said, "This is poke elevated to Mile High. I went for their Yuzu Salmon and loved it. This isn't like other poke places where they fill the bowls up with stuffing and heavy sauce. You can tell there was some serious thought put into the combination. The flavors of the sauce complemented the fresh salmon instead of masking it."
And Laura B. said, "This place is one of a kind! So refreshing and flavorful, will definitely be back. The sliders were too good, go get 'em! Also recommend the green curry salmon and white tail bowls ... so bomb! "
