Craving Indian food? A new restaurant in Logan Circle has you covered. Called Pappe, the newcomer brings traditional Indian fare to the vibrant 14th Street corridor.
The colorful, 85-seat restaurant comes courtesy of chefs Sanjay Mandhaiya and Shankar Puthran of Saffron in Falls Church and first-time restaurateur Vipul Kapila, Eater reports.
Signature entrees include the chicken tikka masala, a chicken pistachio korma and red snapper with black pepper, red chiles, curry leaves and garlic. Pappe takes particular pride in its vindaloo, saying it "frankly ought to come with a fire extinguisher."
With five reviews on Yelp thus far, the new arrival currently boasts a five-star rating.
R G., said, "The food was all really good — my favorite was the daal tadka and their original cocktail Southern Somras. I loved the fact that the vindaloo was not dumbed down. We will be back for sure."
Kevin C. added, "Very good option if you're in the mood for authentic Indian. Highly recommend reservations because just like all restaurants on 14th, it gets packed."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Pappe is open from 5-10 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday and 5-11 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
