Looking for the perfect upscale establishment for your next special meal? One of these fine dining spots may be just what you're searching for.
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the best high-end New American restaurants around Sacramento, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to fill the bill.
1. Mulvaney's B & L

Topping the list is Mulvaney's B & L. Located at 1215 19th St., this anchor of the Midtown fine dining scene is the highest rated New American restaurant in Sacramento, boasting 4.5 stars out of 973 reviews on Yelp.
Yelpers praise the smoked salmon starter, the cured and seared duck breast, and the personalized menus Mulvaney's will prepare for special occasions.
2. Ella Dining Room And Bar

Next up is Ella Dining Room and Bar, situated at 1131 K St. downtown. With four stars out of 1,505 reviews on Yelp, the New American eatery (which also hosts events) has proven to be a local favorite for those looking to indulge.
On the menu, look for the bone marrow with caramelized onions on a smoked batard, as well as the seared scallops with English pea and ricotta angolotti.
3. Moxie

Midtown's Moxie, located at 2028 H St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the wine bar and New American spot 4.5 stars out of 408 reviews.
The eatery has a limited fixed menu, including the popular crab potstickers, and an ever-changing selection of daily specials; additionally, customers can make requests and the chefs will try to fulfill them (within reason).
4. The Firehouse Restaurant

The Firehouse Restaurant, a longtime New American fixture in Old Sacramento that also hosts special events like weddings, is another high-traffic, pricey go-to, with four stars out of 1,138 Yelp reviews.
What's on offer changes regularly, but as of this writing, the chef's tasting menu includes seared foie gras and coastal huckleberries with lemongrass brioche and pink peppercorn gastrique. Head over to 1112 Second St. to see for yourself.
5. Localis

Last but not least, check out Midtown's Localis, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 338 reviews on Yelp. The ever-changing chef's tasting menu is a popular draw, as is the fire-roasted octopus and the Sunday brunch. Treat yourself at the New American establishment by heading over to 2031 S St.
