A new bar and Italian joint offering pizza, pasta and more is strutting its stuff in the neighborhood. The newcomer to Inner Harbor, called Italian Disco, is located at 1006 Fleet St. in the former space of Bagby Pizza.
With chef Julian Marucci (also of Tagliata and the Elk Room) at the helm, the menu has plenty of pizza choices, from the simple margherita pizza to elevated choices like smoked duck with pear, walnuts, mustard greens, gorgonzola and raspberry balsamic.
Italian Disco has 30 beers on tap, as well as a selection of signature cocktails like the Paloma di Parma, with milagro tequila, Campari, pink grapefruit, lime juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, blood orange soda. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a 3.5-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp, Italian Disco is still finding its feet, but it's early days.
Bethany J., who was the first to review the new spot on May 24, wrote, "We ordered the ravioli (yummy), the meatballs (also yummy), and the baby kale salad. The portions were huge and we could barely eat it all."
And Cassandra W. enthused, "We love this place! The staff is amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable, good on the fly with suggestions etc. You can't go wrong with the Caesar salad, the stuffed peppers, and pizza!"
But Yelper Dina B. said, "I was really excited to try the meatballs - they looked so good in a photo. They needed a more flavorful mixture of meats because they were simply boring. The arugula salad was overdressed. The pizza was fine; the crust was good."
Want to give it a whirl? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Italian Disco is open from 11 a.m.–midnight Sunday-Tuesday and 11 a.m.–2 a.m. Wednesday-Saturday.
