Customer favorites include the Coreanos bowl, a pan-fried rice bowl with carrots and a choice of beef, pork, chicken or tofu, and the kimbap, a sushi-like roll stuffed with pickled vegetables and bulgogi or spicy pork.

Next up is Allston's Kaju Tofu House, situated at 58 Harvard Ave. (between Cambridge and Franklin streets). With four stars out of 532 reviews on Yelp, the Korean spot has proven to be a local favorite.

Spicy tofu stew, crowned with a raw egg that cooks in the bowl, is one of the most popular menu items here, and customers also love the selection of banchan, small dishes that traditionally accompany a Korean meal.

Allston's Seoul Soulongtang, located at 1245 Commonwealth Ave., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the Korean spot four stars out of 402 reviews.

As the name suggests, the house specialty is soulongtang, a comforting soup made of long-simmered ox bones, brisket and other beef cuts. Galbitang, beef short rib soup, is another popular option. Barbecued meats and noodle dishes round out the menu.

4. Grass Roots Cafe

Grass Roots Cafe, a Korean deli that offers sandwiches and more, is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 121 Yelp reviews. While traditional turkey sandwiches and the like can be had here, Yelpers love the selection of Korean eats, including "Porky's Nightmare," a marinated pork dish with rice and salad. Grass Roots also does a Korean classic: bibimbap, a combination bowl of pork, pickled vegetables and rice that's also offered here in burrito form.

Head over to 101 Arch St. (between Summer Street and Snow Place) to see for yourself.
