A new halal Mediterranean spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 580 W. Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. in McKinley Park, the fresh arrival is called Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen.
On the menu, diners can expect large plates with classic Mediterranean dishes like chicken and lamb kabobs, or vegetable moussaka with eggplant and bechamel sauce, all served with rice, salad, harissa and yogurt sauce. Salads, wraps and bowls are also available.
With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the new all-day restaurant has already earned some fans.
"This place has only been open 4 days and I hope they're here forever," said Yelper Esther A., who reviewed the new joint on June 22. "My husband and I tried the chicken bowl, falafel bowl, and Turkish fries. Everything was so good and fresh. Best Mediterranean food in town."
And Yelper Eric D. agreed, "Tasty! Brand new spot in Stockton right off 1-5. Falafel was delicious, chicken was good, all ingredients very fresh & made to order. Host was gracious & friendly as well. Great grub!"
