The waterfront has a new Italian ristorante. Called Lupo Marino, it's located at 40 Pearl St. SW.
The latest from D.C. restaurateur Med Lahlou (Lupe Verde, Tunnicliff's), Lupo Marino is a casual pizzeria serving up pies that are wood-fired in a brick oven. The rest of the menu showcases Southern Italian street food — like paninis, fried seafood and casual pasta dishes — and classic Italian desserts, including tiramisu and gelato.
So far, Lupo Marino has earned a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Jenny C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 10, said, "The pizza is a must-try here. The menu is set up to be shareable small plates, but the portions are fairly generous and could be a meal on their own."
H. C. said, "Delicious, charming and affordable, in a neighborhood of places that often empty your wallet before they fill your stomach. Had a really good Fritto Misto and am excited to try more."
