If you're on the hunt for Korean barbecue, this recent opening ought to be on your radar. The new arrival to Cleveland's AsiaTown neighborhood, called Rising Grill, is located at 3709 Payne Ave.
The wide selection of barbecued meats — prepared at each table on built-in grills — includes marinated beef short ribs, pork, duck, rib-eye, chicken and brisket. Or try a little bit of everything with one of the special chef's combinations.
The restaurant's menu also features Korean hot pot, soups, rice and noodle dishes, with standbys like the bibimbap (vegetables and rice served in a hot stone pot with a spicy mixing sauce and chicken or tofu).
With a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Logan H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 28, said, "We got the Chef's Showcase Combination Barbecue with beef, marinated pork and chicken. All the meat was delicious. The meal came with a wide selection of sides and two soups, which were all very good."
And Michael C. said, "We liked the pork belly: crispy, salty with the dipping sauce and with a tasty chew. It wasn't a bad deal. The bibimbap was heavy on the toppings, with a little less rice, which can be good or bad."
Ready to take the plunge on some Korean barbecue? Stop in to try it for yourself. Rising Grill is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Sunday. (It's closed on Tuesday.)
