A new fencing club has launched in the city. Located at 1212A Cedar Post Lane, the fresh arrival is called Scuola di Fabris Historical Duelist Corps.
This club seeks to recreate a medieval-times fencing experience, according to its Facebook page. Once an interest group founded by like-minded locals with a love of historicswordplay, it now offers monthly paid memberships and instructional classes for newbies. Courses are divided by experience level, and private lessons are also available.
The entity has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Laura L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the spot on May 10, said, "It has not been quite a year since I have been attending Sword to Sword and learning how to wield a rapier, but I can already see and notice a lot of improvements in my self-esteem. The instructor for rapier, Tim Guerinot, has been consistently very kind, considerate, understanding and patient."
Yelper Ben H. added, “I have the utmost respect for the knowledge and skill of the instructors here, and can tell you that you will learn. Historically accurate and absolutely the best."
Intrigued? Scuola di Fabris Historical Duelist Corps is open from 7 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. (It's closed on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.)
