Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top Japanese restaurants around Stockton, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to venture next time you're on the hunt.
1. Raw Sushi Bistro
Topping the list is Raw Sushi Bistro. Located at 10742 Trinity Parkway, Suite D in Spanos Park West, the sushi bar and Japanese eatery is the highest rated Japanese restaurant in Stockton, boasting four stars out of 347 reviews on Yelp.
Customers praise the specialty rolls, like the Tsunami roll filled with soft-shell crab and avocado and topped with unagi and fresh salmon. Cooked food like chicken katsu and grilled mackerel is also on the menu. But plan your visit carefully: in the evenings there is often a wait at the popular spot.
2. Sanchon Ramen & BB
Next up is Anderson's Sanchon Ramen & BBQ, situated at 6252 Pacific Ave. With four stars out of 170 reviews on Yelp, the Korean-Japanese spot offering noodles, barbecue and more has proven to be a local favorite.
Both types of cuisine are well represented here: Yelpers love both the spicy soy chicken wings and the spicy beef ramen. Diners can finish the meal with some strawberry mochi or green ice cream.

Last but not least, Downtown's Bento, located at 357 E. Market St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the Japanese fusion spot four stars out of 40 reviews.
