Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the best affordable vegan restaurants around Sacramento, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to venture next time you're on the hunt.
1. Pushkins Bakery
Topping the list is Pushkins Bakery, known for its gluten-free and vegan options. Located at 1820 29th St. in Midtown, it is the highest rated low-priced vegan restaurant in Sacramento, boasting 4.5 stars out of 562 reviews on Yelp.
Look for the ever-popular vegan cupcakes in rotating flavors like chocolate banana and peanut butter, as well as the double chocolate walnut cookie.
2. Pieces Pizza By The Slice
Next up is Midtown's Pieces, situated at 1309 21st St. With four stars out of 588 reviews on Yelp, the mostly-vegetarian spot, which offers pizza by the slice, has proven to be a local favorite for those looking for an affordable option.
The vegan pizza on offer features housemade marinara sauce, topped with an assortment of veggies and olives rolled into the crust.
3. Oblivion Comics & Coffee
Downtown's Oblivion Comics & Coffee, located at 1020 11th St., Suite 100., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the combination comic book store and plant-based coffee shop 4.5 stars out of 116 reviews.
Oblivion serves coffee from local roasters Chocolate Fish and vegan pastries from Sugar Plum Bakery, as well as toasts made from Grateful Bread loaves. Check out the Dark Sith drink: drip coffee topped with espresso.
4. Anna's Vegan Cafe
