A new boot camp fitness chain has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival is called Orangetheory Fitness, located at 2401 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.
Orangetheory is a national chain with numerous outlets in the D.C. area. The latest studio brings to the West End its approach to maximizing motivation and calorie burn through 60-minute group classes guided by an instructor. Sessions are high-intensity and split between strength training floor work and cardio, and heart rate monitors provide constant feedback.
The new Orangetheory Fitness has two reviews on Yelp.
Mary T., who reviewed the new spot on June 15, said, "When I first heard about Orangetheory I thought it would would intimidating, but it's far from it. You get the guidance you need from the trainers (who have all been helpful and friendly so far), and everything is done at your own fitness level."
Yelper Lisa K. added, “I love Orangetheory. I love the loud music, I love the motivation, and I love the burn. I did not love this class. We had so much down time just waiting for the coach to explain things, and the treads section was so easy that I, a certified treadmill-hating non-runner, was hoping for more.”
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Orangetheory Fitness in the West End is open from 5 a.m.–8 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m.–7 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
