Topping the list is Mexican grocery store and bakery La Plaza Supermarket. Located at 13609 Lakewood Heights Blvd., it's the highest rated business in the neighborhood, boasting 4.5 stars out of 162 reviews on Yelp.

Not only can you pick up some authentic Latin products in the grocery section, but you can also score some grub to eat on the spot. Try one of the lunch combos, like the Tacos Combo Lunch that comes with three tacos made with warmed corn tortillas and your choice of meat, garnished with onions, cilantro, salsa and lime wedges. The store also serves up tamales, burritos, tortas and chile rellenos.

2. Carol & John's Comic Shop

Next up is Carol & John's Comic Shop at 17462 Lorain Ave., which has earned five stars out of 27 reviews on Yelp. Besides having the latest comic book issues in stock, it also carries graphic novels, books, collectibles, figurines and other comic book paraphernalia. Learn more about the store on its website.

3. Sí Señor Mexican Restaurant

The colorful Sí Señor Mexican Restaurant is another top choice. Yelpers give the business, located at 16800 Lorain Ave., four stars out of 80 reviews.

Some of the house specialties include the Sí Señor Special with a pork tamale, beef taco, chalupa, beef enchilada and chile rellenos served with Mexican rice and beans; or the Cazuelada, which comes with steak, chicken and chorizo sautéed with red bell pepper, mushrooms and onions, covered with cheese and served with Mexican rice and beans. Chef recommended dishes include the pla pad cha (fried fresh tilapia with green bell peppers, onions, carrots, mushrooms and cabbage with chile sauce), kao soi noodles (egg noodles with yellow curry, yellow bean powder, coconut milk, cabbage, onions, carrots, bean sprouts and dried shallots) and the khung pad cha (stir-fried shrimp and vegetables with a sweet and spicy chile sauce). Finally, there's Souper Market at 16804 Lorain Ave., which has earned 4.5 stars out of 25 reviews on Yelp. The restaurant — with locations in Lakewood, Midtown and Ohio City — offers weekly specials and a rotating selection of soups.

Soups currently on the menu include chicken paprikash, pulled chicken noodle, jambalaya, toasted sweet corn gazpacho and creamy strawberry bisque. Not sure if your favorite will be available?
