Salad fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Called Evergreens Salad, the newcomer is located at 504 Fifth Ave. South, Suite 107B in the International District.

This new outpost is the tenth Seattle-area location for Evergreens, which also plans to open six more locations in the coming year. The menu is centered around build-your-own salads with more than two dozen topping and dressing options, allowing customers to create their ideal mix of proteins (like albacore tuna, steak and turkey), veggies (like fire-roasted corn and pickled onions) and add-ons (think avocado, bacon or hard-boiled eggs).

For the indecisive, there's also a menu of pre-selected salad varieties like the Super Bowl (arugula, quinoa, turkey, grape tomatoes, almonds, aged parmesan, herb pesto, red wine vinaigrette) and the Rice Rice Baby (spinach, napa cabbage, brown rice, carrots, red bell peppers, snap peas, teriyaki glaze, sesame dressing).

Evergreens has gotten off to an uneven start thus far, with a three-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Connie A., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 9, wrote, "Staff was super friendly as soon as I walked in, and there were no customers when I began to order. I got my usual Cobb salad, with some modifications."

And Barry C. wrote, "Great feel to it; everything looked fresh and good options. I opted for the Mexican-flavored one and made it a grain bowl. I am not a meat person when it comes to salad, but it is perfect that way."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Evergreens Salad is open from 10:30 a.m.–7 p.m. on weekdays and 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m. on weekends.
