Island Thyme - A Calypso Grill & Pub brings the Florida Keys to Charlotte through its menu, music and decor. Fresh fish from South Florida is available daily, whether as a salad, sandwich or main dish with sides.

Entrees include crabcakes, Caribbean scallops and lamb shanks, with sides like Caribbean rice, mango salsa and seaweed salad. Outdoor seating is available as well as a full bar featuring mojitos, margaritas and piña coladas.

With a five-star Yelp rating out of six reviews, Island Thyme - A Calypso Grill & Pub has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Clint L., who reviewed it on June 16, wrote, "This fantastic new restaurant has only been open for a few weeks, and I've already been back four times! The focus is on seafood with fresh fish flown in weekly."

John H. noted, "Very good new restaurant. Staff is very polite and the seafood is fresh. Decent priced. Nice bar area. All around good spot."

New restaurant and cocktail bar Fin & Fino, which has a raw bar, is serving up fish and shellfish that's delivered daily.

Lunch includes appetizers like calamari and local cheese, beet and arugula salads, an open-faced brisket sandwich and entrees that range from a poke bowl to wagyu skirt steak. Dinner spotlights fish any number of ways (smoked salmon flatbread, grilled tuna, crispy snapper), along with lobster, shrimp and scallops. 

Fin & Fino currently holds four stars out of 38 reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper Leslie T., who reviewed the restaurant on June 27, wrote, "There is something for everyone, and everyone will feel welcome and at home. Without describing each dish or cocktail, I will just briefly note that the extensive list of oysters, the creative small plates and the unique spirits were all memorable in their own right but were an epicurean symphony together."

Allison B. noted, "Interior is well designed (minus the step when you first walk in) and spacious! Seating is comfortable and service was excellent. Take advantage of the option to reserve a table, because this place isn't going to slow down any time soon."

Fin & Fino is open from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5–11 p.m. on Friday, and 5–11 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)

Eddie V's Prime Seafood

Eddie V's Prime Seafood, a chain with restaurants in 11 states, has opened a new outpost at the Bank of America Plaza.

On the menu, look for Eddie V's East and West Coast oysters, caviar, appetizers like lobster tacos, and seafood entrees like Chilean sea bass, Parmesan sole and swordfish steak. There are also steaks such as filet mignon and New York strip. In The V Lounge you'll enjoy live music and happy hour specials.

Yelpers are excited about Eddie V's Prime Seafood, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of 33 reviews on the site.

Trey W., who visited on June 10, wrote, "The cocktail at the bar while we waited for our group's table to be ready was unique and delicious. The amazing live jazz made the ambiance unforgettable. The waitstaff was prompt and pristine, very knowledgeable of the menu and made amazing recommendations."

Yelper Sloan M. wrote, "We stepped into Eddie V's and I loved the vibe immediately. It was a bustling after-work happy hour scene along with people who came to dine. The bar was nice and no one waited for a cocktail or a refill as all the bartenders helped each other."
