A new poke joint serving its fish in bowls, burritos and bakes has debuted in Natomas. Located at 3571 Truxel Road, Suite B1 in the Natomas Marketplace complex, the new arrival is called Pokeway.
Like many poke places, Pokeway creates customizable bowls of protein and toppings over a base of rice or salad, then dresses it all with a house sauce like its Citrus Ponzu or Creamy Wasabi. It also serves sushi burritos, with the same choice of ingredients wrapped in nori. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a 3-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, Pokeway is still finding its feet, but it's early days.
Marino S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 28, said, "Loved the poke burrito and the strawberry shake is pretty good. The workers are very nice and friendly."
But Angelica D. echoed other reviewers' concerns about quality control: "I'm really questioning the freshness of the food I just had. The aesthetics of the food presentation could use some improvement."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Pokeway is open from 10:30 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.
