Another spot to score pizza and casual Italian food has opened for business in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Capitol Hill, Ledo Pizza, is located at 816 H St. NE
If you're not already familiar, the Annapolis-founded regional chain specializes in square-shaped thin-crust pizzas that come with house-made sauce and dough, and hand-cut pepperoni, as the company site explains. While the original pizza has stayed relatively the same since the first location opened in 1955, the chain has added items like sandwiches, wings and salads since then.
With a four-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, the new location is getting solid feedback from clientele.
J.D. B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 8, wrote, "The pizza is quite good. Coming from the Detroit area I'm a fan of square pizzas, especially when they don't have large crusts and this Ledo's does that great. The crust is quite crispy largely due to it being a fairly thin pizza, which I also appreciate so it isn't as heavy. The cuts are between 2-3 inches square each, which is pretty easy to pick up and eat without toppings falling off. The pizza sauce (Ledo's sauce) is tasty if a bit on the sweet side. "
Yelper Erica S. added, “Fair prices and good menu. Recommend the buffalo wings (remember to request the blue cheese and celery). Disappointed in the spring chicken pizza - pretty sure it was a cheese pizza with chicken on it. No aioli or Basil was on it at all - just red sauce chicken and cheese.”
Head on over to check it out: Ledo Pizza is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon–9 p.m. on Sunday.
