Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top burger hot spots in Lakewood, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture next time you're on the hunt.
1. Buckeye Beer Engine

Topping the list is Buckeye Beer Engine. Located at 15315 Madison Ave., the pub is the highest rated burger joint in Lakewood, boasting four stars out of 358 reviews on Yelp.
This haunt offers more than 25 beers on tap to wash down appetizers, soups, salads and specialty burgers like the Cylops, piled high with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and a sunny side-up egg; the Tuscan, topped with herbed goat cheese, roasted red peppers and caramelized balsamic onions; and the Bobz Big Boyz, with crinkle-cut dill chips, Bobz sauce and two slices of American cheese.
2. Jammy Buggars

Next up is Jammy Buggars, situated at 15625 Detroit Ave. With four stars out of 241 reviews on Yelp, the bar and traditional American spot, serving burgers and more, has proven to be a local favorite.
This joint offers hand-cut fries and dishes them out in different styles like Loaded, topped with cheese sauce, bacon, chives and sour cream; Naked, with just a touch of salt; and Redneck Poutine, topped with sausage gravy, smoked cheddar and chives.
The establishment also features interesting burger creations like the Chicken-n-Waffle, made from breaded and fried ground chicken served with maple butter and bacon sandwiched between two waffles; and the Better Bacon Burger, made from a ground pork loin and slab bacon patty topped with crumbled blue cheese, bacon and grilled red onions.

"Food comes up quick and delicious from the kitchen," Yelper Adrian M. said. "The restaurant offers killer pub grub, but the menu also has healthy options, like the vegetable lettuce wraps. ... Come up if you need a brew after a long bike ride through the Rocky River reservation, a great lunch during the workday or want to root on the Cavs, Tribe, Browns, Buckeyes and Bobcats with fellow fans."
4. Smokin Thyme Kitchen

Last but not least is Smokin Thyme Kitchen, a spot to score burgers and sandwiches that boasts four stars out of 58 Yelp reviews. Head over to 14201 Madison Ave. to see for yourself.
Get ready for burgers topped with a selection of smoked cheeses, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jalapeños, green peppers and mushrooms plus signature sauces like Creole mayo, bourbon and the Florida White — made from ranch dressing and ketchup.
