Hungry? A new neighborhood Japanese spot has you covered. Located at 1119 N. Hudson St., in the former Brixx Pizza space in Clarendon, the new arrival is called Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ.
The Japanese chain, with outposts across the U.S. and Canada, features grills built into the center of each table. The downdraft exhaust pulls smoke away from diners, leaving you to enjoy signature dishes like harami skirt steak in miso marinade and short rib in sweet soy marinade. Drinks include Japanese sake, shochu and beer.
With a four-star rating out of 27 reviews on Yelp so far, Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ has already made a good impression.
Cole Q., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 25, wrote, "Staff was very friendly and helpful. My party of five got accommodated well and service was prompt. ... Quality of appetizers, meats and drinks are just as good as the other locations."
