Barbecue fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Located at 9865 E. Hampden Ave. in southeast Denver, the new arrival is called Hungry Wolf BBQ & Catfish.
As the name would suggest, you'll find both barbecue and catfish on the menu, as well as wings, salads and dessert options. The barbecue and catfish are offered as platters with two sides or on sandwiches with one side. Barbecue options include pork ribs, beef ribs, chicken, hot links, brisket and pulled pork. (See the full menu here.)
Finish off your meal with homemade peach cobbler, strawberry pudding pound cake or ice cream.
With a three-star rating out of 24 reviews on Yelp so far, Hungry Wolf BBQ & Catfish is still finding its footing.
JS R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 29, wrote, "I'm torn. The lunch special pulled pork was really tasty (moist, tender, porky-goodness), and potato salad was good as well, but it took 30 minutes from the time I ordered to when the order was ready to go."
Guy B. added, "We were looking for barbecue and, driving down Hampden, we see this giant smoker billowing next to an old Taco Bell. So we went in, both had pulled pork sandwiches, onion rings and coleslaw. Every bite was beyond delicious!"
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Hungry Wolf BBQ & Catfish is open from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon–6 p.m. on Sunday.
