A new bar has opened up in Dupont Circle. Called The Caged Bird, it's located at 1723 Connecticut Ave. NW.

Serving cocktails, wine and beer (including local brewer Sankofa Beer Company), the bar and lounge also offers dishes like grilled shrimp, grilled salmon, tacos, jerk chicken sliders, and house special Caged Bird Chicken Sliders which include braised collards, macaroni and cheese, yams, and barbecue pulled chicken.

The Caged Bird has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.

Blak B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 6, wrote, "I am really happy that I stumbled upon this place before the official grand opening! The bartenders are friendly and fun to converse with. This is a lounge where you can let your hair down and just be crazy ol' you!"

And Monquize D. wrote, "Hands down, the closest thing I can get to an NY bar. With the long work weeks I just want a place that I can go to and have a good time with out a care in the world. The energy is authentic and simply fun! Hard to find in DC nowadays but I definitely enjoy how authentic the energy is in here. Will definitely be back!"

Head on over to check it out: The Caged Bird is open from 11 a.m.–midnight on Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
