Looking to chow down on some Eritrean and Ethiopian fare? A new spot has you covered. Located at 129 S. Broadway in Upper Fells Point, the new arrival is called Dahlak.
Dahlak is a group of islands off of Eritrea, but the menu will be familiar to devotees of Ethiopian food. There's the raw beef kitfo, marinated lamb or beef tibs and the curries known as wot. There are also a slew of Italian items, like bruschetta, minestrone soup and tiramisu.
Seating is inside or on the large patio that many will remember from Arcos Mexican Restaurant, which formerly occupied the space.
With just one review on Yelp thus far, Dahlak currently has a four-star rating.
Ellen R., who reviewed the new spot on July 20, wrote, "This is an international restaurant in the old Arcos spot that's mostly Eritrean food, which is basically the same food as Ethiopian. ... We stuck to the Eritrean side of the menu and were delighted with our food."
